Stokke MyCarrier Review – The 3 in 1 Baby Carrier

I’ve always wanted to invest in a baby carrier that allows me to carry my daughter on my back but I had no idea which one to choose.  Luckily, I was able to test out the Stokke MyCarrier 3 in 1 baby carrier. I’m am so impressed with this carrier.  It can be used from birth up to three years old from front carrying to back carrying for a child up to 33 pounds.

Design:  The carrier is designed to fit adults of all sizes.  Stokke used soft, 100% organic cotton which ensures safe and breathable comfort.  You can use the carrier to hold your newborn in front of you to resemble that closeness you and your baby felt when you were pregnant.  You can continue carrying your infant out in front of you facing in or out.  Once your child is big enough to sit up on his/her own, you can start carrying he/she on your back with some quick changes and adjustments.  Stokke also managed to include a couple pockets for holding keys or credit cards.

Parts:  The Stokke carrier comes with everything you need all in one box.  I love that you don’t have to go out and buy separate pieces for each stage or carrier.  It comes with the main harness, front carrier and back carrier.  My husband and I were both impressed with the heavy duty safety latched that Stokke used on the carrier.  They used mountain climbing quality hooks.
Comfort:  Besides the 100% organic cotton used for comfort, the carrier comes with an aluminum support for back carrying which goes in the main harness.  Let me tell you, this made is so much easier to carry my daughter on my back.  It took the pressure off of my lower back and distributed it evenly throughout my shoulders and back.  My daughter is 19 pounds and my shoulders started to get a little tired during our walk.  I have a pretty petite frame so it could just be a matter of me being a little weak.
Assembly:  It was pretty easy for me to attach the back carrier to the main harness.  It simply zipped on.  I will admit that the instructions had me a bit confused at first.  I threw them down and looked at the pictures on the box and was able to figure it out from there.  I did check the instructions again to make sure I had it assembled correctly.
My Overall Experience:  I really like the Stokke baby carrier and plan to use it for everything from walking to the park, hiking around at the river and much more.  It will also come in handy when we decide to have another child and I can carry him/her from a newborn.  If you are in the market for a baby carrier that does it all, Stokke is the right choice for you if it fits your budget.  The Stokke My Carrier would make a great gift for parents this Holiday season and would especially make a great baby shower gift.
