Disclosure: Sponsored post. I also received a Crane humidifier to facilitate my review. Regardless of compensation, my opinion is honest and my own.
The seasonal cold has officially hit our household. The little one is sneezing, coughing and snotting everywhere. Our best defense for these symptoms during the night is our Crane Cool Mist Humidifier. We just got the new “Violet The Hippo” for review and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Because Violet is super cute and quiet, my daughter isn’t scared to sleep with it in her room.
I prefer a cool mist humidifier because they are safer. No risk of burns and I’ve heard that cool mist is better for colds. Increasing the moisture in a room with cool mist is sort of like being outside in the fog, which I’ve also heard is great for a cold. The moisture can relieve cough, cold and flu symptoms including nasal congestion, dry cough, sinus irritation, nose bleeds and dry skin.
The one gallon container of water will last about 24 hours and effectively humidifies rooms up to 250 square feet. It is suggested that you drain the container daily and clean it out weekly to avoid mold growth. If the humidifier runs out of water during the night, it will automatically shut off. Believe it or not, Crane cool mist humidifiers use less energy than a household light bulb.

Tip: Crane cool mist humidifiers do not require a filter but if you have hard TAP water, I suggest you pick up an extra filter when you purchase your humidifier.
