Two weekends ago I was able to sneak away for a much needed girls’ weekend with my little Charlotte, my best friend Brittani and her daughter. Ideally, when planning a girls’ trip, I would’ve picked somewhere warm, but you never know how the weather will be during May and we definitely didn’t want to drive down to southern California to chase the warmth. We chose to explore the northern California coast with our home base being the Little River Inn and it ended up being the perfect location.
Our Room at the Little River Inn
The Little River Inn is a chic, vintage inn that is perched along the beautiful Pacific Ocean. It has a very family-friendly coastal feel with a dash of luxury. We stayed in the luxury units west of the main portion of the Inn in room 167. Each of these luxury rooms has a beautiful view of the ocean and many of them have fireplaces, wet bars, Jacuzzis, steam showers and private hot tubs.
Our room was absolutely perfect and accommodated two adults and two children very well. Our room featured two queen beds that were very comfortable, a beautiful view of the ocean, a cozy balcony, a fireplace, wet bar and a huge Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. We had a two-person bistro table, two additional cozy chairs next to the fireplace and a perfect little closet complete with robes.
Little River Inn Restaurant
When traveling with kids, I always try to stay in hotels that offer room service or on-site dining. It’s hard to get kids going first thing in the morning, so room service is a so nice to have. The Little River Inn offers delicious options on their room service menu that come in hefty portions – large enough to share.
Some things I recommend you try from the Little River Inn Restaurant are the award-winning crab cakes, the Billionaires Bacon Sliders, Banana Bread Pudding and the Salmon. Every dish we tried was absolutely amazing, but I had to pick some favorites for you.
Our stay at the Little River Inn was so relaxing (even with kids). The staff was phenomenal and very accommodating, the food was amazing and the room was more than we could’ve asked for.
If you plan to visit the northern California coast, I recommend you check out the Little River Inn. You can learn more about their rates, special offers, golf course, tennis courts and pet-friendly options at www.littleriverinn.com.
