I am personally a sweet wine drinker. I usually stick to Moscato or Rose. I was so excited when I heard about Jam Jar Wines, out of South Africa. I just knew I had to try them.
I knew I couldn’t drink the whole bottles to myself so I had a few ladies over the other day for a little early dinner and a glass of Moscato. We let the kids run around for a bit while we enjoyed some delicious Jam Jar Wine. My guests and I loved the Jam Jar Moscato. We actually paired it with a chicken salad and they went great together. That’s the beauty of Jam Jar wines, it really doesn’t matter what you pair them with because they are great with everything.
At first, their responses to the wine were, “It’s OK” and “It’s pretty good.” As my guests continued eating and sipping, their responses changed to “This wine is actually really good!”
“Jam Jar was born out of the realization that there are not a lot of options available to consumers seeking quality sweet wine. The fresh, fruity Moscato and Sweet Shiraz aim to fill that void. Refreshing and approachable with a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, Jam Jar Wines are sweet perfection…Simple, pure and honest!”
Here’s a fun recipe to try:
Jam Jar’s Moscato (2011) has light hints of juicy peach and apricot flavors. It’s perfect for toasting or for enjoying every day. I love how fruity and crisp the wine is. I will definitely be purchasing more Jam Jar Wine in the future.
I equally liked the Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz for different reasons. I feel like the Moscato is more of a day time drink, while the Shiraz would be better enjoyed in the evening. I enjoyed a glass of Shiraz with my shrimp dinner the other night. I even got my husband, who is NOT a wine drinker, to try it. I lured him in by telling him it had chocolate and berries in it. Nope…he’s still not a wine lover. But hey, I tried!
In my opinion, the Sweet Shiraz is the perfect wine to enjoy in the Fall. Can you just picture yourself sitting out on the porch of a cabin, staring out onto the rolling hills full of pine trees…sipping a glass of Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz? 🙂
The Back of the Bottle Reads:
“Packed with juicy berry flavors and hint of chocolate, Jam Jar wine makes a versatile partner for everything from cheeseburgers to chocolate pudding. Best served slightly chilled, it offers luscious fruity goodness in every sip!”
“Crafted in a lighter style than your typical Shiraz, this fresh, fruity, semi-sweet wine displays aromas and flavors of ripe blueberries, blackberries and raspberries with dark chocolate undertones. Refreshing and approachable with a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, it pairs equally well with meat dishes, cheeses, and desserts…”
