With all the controversy surrounding the use of underarm antiperspirant/deodorant combinations, many women have chosen to use deodorant only products. Several studies have demonstrated that parabens have been found in tested breast cancer tumors. Although the long term effects are not proven, aluminum has been thought to be linked to Alzheimers disease, as well as cancerous growth in the underarm breast area. Synthetically produced aluminum and parabens can also cause skin irritation in people with sensitive skin issues.
Tori’s underarm deodorants are paraben and aluminum free and come in three varieties – unscented, Cool Essence and Powder Fresh. The Cool Essence and Powder Fresh scents are really clean light scents, not overpowering or perfume-y at all. I preferred the Cool Essence over the Powder Fresh, but I think teen girls would really love the Powder Fresh scent. If you are wearing a scented body lotion or cologne, the unscented is great as it gives you no scent “clash.” To be honest, I really did not notice a huge difference with using only a “deodorant” over my everyday antiperspirant/deodorant product. I think that tells me that I don’t need the antiperspirant portion on a daily basis. From now on its deodorant only for me!
All three of the Tori’s deodorants I sampled were silky smooth and glide on easily with no cakey residue, i.e. no white marks on my clothes. My only criticism would be that the sticks are a bit smaller than the twist up container, making them wobble a bit, and one of my sticks broke off at the base. Price wise, Tori’s is comparable with most popular brands of deodorants, ranging from about $5-6, depending on quantity purchased.
Tori’s motto is “Love Life” and they strive to give customers peace of mind in knowing they are buying a product that is healthy and safe for them to use. Tori’s Deodorant’s are made in the USA and Tori’s gives back by donating 2% to breast cancer and Alzheimer’s research.
