How do you test out a pillow? You can’t lie on it at the store, so usually you just buy one and bring it home to try. I have a closet full of pillows that just didn’t work for me. Some are too low or too high, some are too hard or too soft. Hoping to find a great pillow, I jumped at the chance to sample a Proper Pillow.
Invented by Dr. Rick Loos, the Proper Pillow is designed to keep your neck, spine and back all in good alignment, giving you relief from snoring, sleep apnea, stiff neck, neck pain and lower back pain, and helping oxygen flow freely to your vital organs.

I really didn’t have too high of expectations for the Proper Pillow because of my past experiences. Let me first say, I fell asleep pretty fast (which almost never happens with me!) and really had no problem finding a comfortable position. I actually woke up the next morning feeling pretty rested, and it wasn’t until later in the day that I remembered that I had used the Proper Pillow. Now after a few nights, I really am convinced my good sleep is a result of using a good pillow. The other plus was that I felt like the Proper Pillow was already “broken in.” It was comfortable right from the start.
I really noted the high quality of materials used in making the Proper Pillow. The outside quilted cover (machine washable) is soft and thick, with a nice zipper and pretty cording around the pillow. The material over the pillow base is soft and made of a heavy knit fabric. The ergonomic visco-elastic memory foam pillow base is just the right height (I didn’t feel like my head was in a “hole”) and perfect for back sleepers or side sleepers.
The Proper Pillow comes in queen size, so perfect for twin, full, queen or king size beds. I used a standard pillowcase, which fit just right to the edge of the pillow. A queen or king case would fit perfectly. At about $70, I think the Proper Pillow is a little pricey, but totally worth it if it gives you better sleep quality.
If you are in desperate need of a good nights’ sleep, try the Proper Pillow – it might just be the last pillow you purchase!
I received one or more sample products mentioned from Proper Pillow. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
