My Kitchen Breakfast Nook with Roman Shades • The Naptime Reviewer

Happy Spring, everybody! I’m so excited to finally share my kitchen breakfast nook with you all. This has been an area of my home that has been a work in progress for quite some time, and thanks to a partnership with Zebra Blinds, we finally made it look more like home.

I admittedly have a bit of a problem keeping my decor the same way for too long, so I like to change out my dining tables every few months. I have two options right now, but I’d love to get your opinion on which one looks best. Below, you will see my counter-height rectangular table (which also converts to a big square), and you will see the round World Market table with bistro chairs. Kitchen Breakfast Nook Option N.1

Rectangular Table Without a Rug – This option is the most kid-friendly. This table is about 3 years old and has been able to withstand spilled paint, marker, crayon, spilled drinks, food, etc. Having no rug under the table makes cleaning up after meals much easier, but feels a little plain to me. What do you think?

Kitchen Breakfast Nook Option N.2

Rectangular Table with a Rug – This, to me, looks best with the rectangular table, but is honestly so hard to keep clean. I can’t even count how many times my kids, the cat, and the dog have spilled food and drinks on this rug. It’s actually a very thin rug, so I take it outside, hang it on the kids swing set, and pressure wash it with dawn dish soap. It works like a charm, but is something I dislike doing often.

Round Table with Jute Rug – I am still getting used to this option, but I think it’s the best one. Having a smaller round table makes this space seem much bigger, but the tricky part will be keeping that rug clean.
