School has officially begun in our little town, as it has for some of your kiddos, too. It’s been so cute seeing all of your kids’ first day of school pictures. Keep ’em coming.
I remember when I was a kid. Back-to-school time was always such an exciting time, mostly because I got to see my friends again, but partly because I got to show off my new clothes. One of my outfit choices was a pleather (yes, fake leather) black skirt and a 3/4 length solid black shirt. A stylish choice for my first day of high school. Ha! I wish I could find that picture to share with you all but it’s deep in the files (or stacks, rather) of old pictures.

Back-to-school time and almond harvesting season are within a couple of weeks of each other and is quite an exciting time in our town. The entire town gets covered in dust and the “low visibility” signs start popping out on the roads. I remember running home each day to see if they shook the almonds. We grew up next to an almond orchard and few of the trees hung over into our yard. When they shook the trees, those almond would fall into our backyard and they were ours to keep. So delish!
