Pouch Pal Squeeze Pouch Holder

Pouch Pal Squeeze Pouch Holder

If you’ve had a baby in the last five years, you know about fruit and vegetable baby food blends that come in pouches. They are seen more and more in the baby food aisle and are becoming the norm, replacing baby food in glass jars. They are great to throw in the diaper bag for a snack if you’re out of the house. Unfortunately, if you’ve ever handed one of these pouches to your kid, you know of the mess that invariably comes along. These food pouches are a great way to get your kids the fruits and veggies they might not eat otherwise, especially when you’re on-the-go. Still, many parents avoid pouches entirely because of the hassle of cleaning baby food from car seats, carpet, strollers, and clothing.

Yes, you can still hold the food pouch while your kiddo slurps, but then you might as well go back to glass baby food jars and spoons. Not much feeding independence there; you’re still tethered to your kid at snack time. If you hand your toddler a food pouch, you’ll most likely see as much food on and around him than in him.

This is where a new product called Pouch Pal comes to the rescue. Pouch Pal is a hard plastic case that houses a baby food pouch in such a way that babies and toddlers are able to suck the pouch dry without being able to squeeze it! It’s a pretty genius idea that California mom Jennifer Fellin invented. After years of research and development, Pouch Pal is finally available for sale on Amazon in four cool colors: turquoise, cobalt, bubblegum, and coral.

Pouch Pal Features and Design

Pouch Pal has lots features that makes it the only product of its kind. It has child-resistant latches that little fingers can’t pop open, a curvy design that is easy for those little hands to hold, and a cap-saver space to keep the cap to the baby food pouch while your little one is eating. If your kid is a thrower, the inventor suggests wrapping a hair tie around the waist of the Pouch Pal before handing it over to your little one. That’s a trick she came up with when using Pouch Pal with her girls.

The Pouch Pal’s design pinches the sides of the pouch and pushes it up from the bottom so that all the food can be sucked out with no vacuum seals forming. This means that you don’t have to constantly readjust and roll the food pouch if you are brave enough to hand it over as-is to your kid. You’re no longer tethered to your toddler at snack time! It’s also top-rack dishwasher-safe and free of BPAs and phthalates.

How to Load Your Pouch Pal

The key to successfully loading a food pouch into a Pouch Pal is to “rainbow” the bottom of the pouch and load it from the bottom first, which is modeled by the inventor here in a super short video. Inserting a pouch into the Pouch Pal is pretty simple, and it will take just a few times to become a pro.

Compatibility with Squeeze Pouches

Most major brands (and lots of smaller ones) are compatible with Pouch Pal. In general, pouches up to 4.22 ounces fit in Pouch Pal. Check here for a list of pouches that are compatible. Some pouches with different nozzles, or those where the nozzle is on the side, won’t fit. Here is a list of non-compatible pouches, just so you can make sure your favorite brands will fit before buying your Pouch Pal.
