2014 Zone Perfect Blog Forward Challenge #1

I am thrilled to be a part of the Zone Perfect Blog Forward campaign and share with you my journey to a healthier, happier me.

MY NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS –

1.  Eat better!
2.  Do at least a 30 minute workout each day!
3.  Play more with my daughter!

“Dear self, I know you haven’t been sticking to all of your new year’s resolutions but don’t be so hard on yourself.  Big changes start with baby steps and a LOT of will power and YOU CAN DO IT!  Now get off of Pinterest and cook a healthy meal, do a little workout or get outside and play with your daughter.”  – Cristen

Disclosure:  Although I have entered the Zone Perfect Blog Forward program and received complimentary product and ZonePerfect promotional items, I am free to comment about ZonePerfect in a positive, neutral or negative fashion as I wish.

Do you ever give yourself a little mental pep talk?  I’m constantly telling myself to get up off my booty and do some of those workouts I’m pinning on Pinterest but somehow I never have the will power to do it.  Then I end up getting down on myself because I failed to do a workout that day.  It takes so much will power and self control to live a healthy lifestyle – or does it?
For me, the easiest way to make the switch to healthier foods is to get rid of the junk and swap it with healthy options.  If I don’t have the junk, I’ll be forced to snack on the healthier substitutes and eventually be just as happy with what I’m eating.  If this isn’t an easy process for you (no judgement), try starting small by swapping out an unhealthy snack for a healthy one each day.
I was recently sent a shipment of Zone Perfect bars to give them a try and incorporate them into my diet.  I’ve always loved Zone Perfect bars, especially the toasted coconut ones, so I was so excited to be able to join the Zone Perfect Blog Forward Challenge.

Without sounding like an infomercial, I really want to say that Zone Perfect bars are the perfect healthy snack choice.  I always have some sort of snack in my purse and diaper bag because I can’t let my blood sugar get too low.  I get cranky, shaky and nauseous if this happens so I am always snacking to prevent it.  My daughter is always wanting snacks at the most inopportune times, too, so the kid’s Zone Perfect bars are great for her.

As far as resolution #3 goes, let’s just say I’m working on it.  My daughter and I go to the park and run around after the dog, we dance around through the house and even do mini exercises together.

Stay tuned for my Blog Forward Challenge #2 coming in April.
