How to Use the Metrin 5-Step Skincare System

In April, I shared with you my new skincare routine, Metrin.  If you missed my introductory post, you can check it out here.  
Since that post, I have talked to numerous people both offline and online about how they feel like the Metrin 5-step skincare system sounds like too much work.  Today, I wanted to share with you how little time it takes to complete the 5 steps.  I use these products every single day and don’t find the process to be any more time consuming than my old skincare routine.

How to Use Metrin

As mentioned, the Metrin system consists of 5 steps.
Step 1 – Deep Cleanser
Step 2 – Lathering Cleanser
Step 3 – Vita Conditioner
Step 4- Protective Lotion
Step 5 – Enriched Vita Cleanser

Two of the steps are cleansing, three of the steps are moisturizing. Watch how easy it is:


 
Cleanse – The first cleanser goes on when your face is dry.  You rub it onto your face and remove it with a lukewarm washcloth.

Cleanse – The second cleanser is slightly exfoliating – and when I say slightly, I mean you can’t even tell.  It’s not gritty in any way, but it really works well to get my makeup and grime off of my face.  Add a little water to your palm, add a pump of cleanser #2, suds it up and apply to your face.  Remove with a warm washcloth, just like step #1.

Moisturize – The first moisturizer goes on after your face is dry from cleansing.  Once it’s dry, you apply the spray-on moisturizer.  Once that is dry, you apply the last moisturizer.

My Results

I just want to add before I go any further, that Metrin has not at all caused my face to breakout.  This has been a completele shock because usually any little upset in my skincare routine causes a breakout.

As promised, I was going to share my before and after pictures throughout my Metrin trial – makeup-free.  As we all know, makeup-free is easy to do on Snapchat and Instagram thanks to their awesome filters, but in real life, there are no filters.  So excuse me as I shyly share my makeup-less photos with you.

Before you see the images, the biggest difference that I have noticed is in the texture of my skin.  I naturally have really rough, combination skin and Metrin has really seemed to diminish the bumps.  I have tried product after product for as long as I can remember to get rid of these bumps and nothing has ever worked until I tried Metrin.  Also, I have a lot of redness in my skin, as you can see below.  I have noticed a slight reduction in the redness and speckled look.  I have also noticed a slight fade in my Melasma spots near my temples.

I have noticed that I am having to use less foundation to cover the redness on my cheeks, particularly near my jaw line.  This has always been a trouble spot for me, so I’ve been pleased with how Metrin is making a difference in my skin’s color and texture.  I have also noticed that even during this California heat wave, my skin has not been oily.  It has managed to stay moisturized without the grease, with or without makeup.

  2. Metrin 5-step skincare system does sound fantastic to try. It does not seem at all difficult to me and worth the time put into using this.
