Rose Athena – Design Your Own Dress

Disclosure:  I received a dress free of charge to facilitate my review.  My opinion is honest and my own.
Have you ever wished you could just design your own dress for a special occasion or just for fun?  At RoseAthena.com, you become the designed and choose everything from the dress style to the waist, hemline, neckline, backline, sleeves and color.  Now you can create the perfect handcrafted dress that suits your likes and needs.
I was given a credit to the Rose Athena store to create a dress of my own.  I decided to go with a grey maxi-dress with 3/4 length sleeves, a natural waistline and a high round neck and backline.  This dress is perfect for fall/winter and can be paired with so many different jackets, sweaters and accessories for endless day or night looks.  The material is very clingy, soft and thin (in a good way) so I suggest you wear a slip, Spanx or tights/leggings underneath to hide panty lines.  I actually wear black leggings under my dress which are sort of like tights.
Below is a snapshot of the process I went through to design my dress.  The dress I designed ended up being $120, which is a bit pricy for a simple maxi-dress, in my opinion.  Although it was so cool to be able to create my own dress and have someone else make it, I probably wouldn’t order another one unless I had a promo code.  I’m cheap like that.  But don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my dress.  Rose Athena offers dresses much cheaper than that, too.
The sizing seems to be very accurate.  I’m usually a size small in dresses which is what I ordered from Rose Athena.  The dress fits so comfortably and I have no complaints.  Even the length is perfect for me (I’m 5’3″).

  1. I love the idea, I always see dresses and think of ways I'd like them better (ie perfect top, but the bottom would be great in handkerchief hem)
