Summer Infant 3DLite Stroller Tour – Small Town USA (Escalon, Ca)

What a treat it is to be included in this year’s Summer Infant’s three-week 3Dlite Stroller Tour across North America.  Today I’m going to take you all on a little tour through my favorite parts of Escalon, Ca (my hometown).
Disclosure:  I received a free product from Summer Infant.  Any opinion expressed in this article is honest and based on my experience with the product.

The new Summer Infant 3Dlite Convenience Stroller is super durable, lightweight and ultra chic.  The modern aluminum frame helps keep this stroller lightweight and gives it a bit of an edge in the lightweight stroller industry.  This stroller is easy to fold and comes with an over-the-shoulder carrying strap to make it easier on the parents.  The reclining seat back, large storage basket and convertible leg rest makes this stroller a great stroller for travel and shopping.

Welcome to small town USA
Escalon is located in California’s Central Valley, it is an attractive city of 7,208 persons in a productive area of San Joaquin County. The city is surrounded on all sides by scenic agricultural land and open spaces. Escalon continues to foster its goal of maintaining a vibrant and diversified community. The City’s mission statement of “Taking pride in our community through quality service” is apparent through the aggressive policies adopted to preserve a family atmosphere and high quality of life. Escalon boasts a low crime rate, an award-winning school district, quality residential homes and a quaint, 1920′s era downtown.
Geographically located on Highway 120 between the San Francisco Bay area and the historic Mother Lode leading to Yosemite National Park.
Leonardo’s Cafe is one of my favorite eateries in town.  Their homemade quiches, pesto sauce and specialty sandwiches are to die for.  Leonardo’s Cafe was most recently made famous when actress Hilary Swank made a stop for lunch.  She ordered their tasty egg salad sandwich which now has the new name of the “Hilary Swankwich.”
The town of Escalon has so many beautiful walls, doors and background to take pictures.
Escalon is pretty well known for it’s trains.  Travelers from the San Francisco Bay Area head through our town on their way up to Yosemite and almost always have to stop for to wait for a train to cross on their way.
The Green Pea Antiques Shop, located along main street (near Leonardo’s) is full of goodies from the past.  Whether you’re looking for nick-knacks or furniture, the Green Pea has it all.
Main Street park is home to many festivals and events throughout the year including our famous, Park Fete.  Purchase from the local vendors, listen to the live band or watch the family-friendly parade with family and friends here in small town USA.
Escalon boasts a low crime rate thanks to the local law enforcement.  You will often find our officers around town handing out stickers to the kids and chit chatting with the locals.
As we travel along Main Street, we’ll find many thrift stores.  While I’m not particularly proud of the amount of thrift stores the town has acquired in the last year or so, I’m sure there are residents who thoroughly enjoy them.

You will also find antique signs high above the shops on Main Street like the old Escalon Meat Service sign.

We have a couple of chic boutiques on Main Street that also double as hair salons.  These are always nice to stop at while on an afternoon walk through town.
I just love the look of the Escalon Fire Department building.
The Escalon Library hosts a free weekly children’s program which gives kids a fun place to relax, listen to some great children’s books and play with toys.

3Dlite in Cabo San Lucas

We really put this stroller to the ultimate test by taking it on our latest family vacation to Cabo San Lucas.  Although the stroller performed fantastically, I do wish that the sun shade was able to extend longer to shade more of my child..  The quick-folding feature made it a breeze for hopping into taxis and shuttles or dining at restaurants.  I am a little concerned that the handle to collapse the stroller will break eventually since it is made of plastic but I will do my best to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Tip:  When lowering the seat back, have your child sit up to avoid smashing your hands or hurting your child.
