Mira Kitchen Scale Review

To be honest, I never thought I needed a scale in the kitchen.  But after looking through all the recipes I have collected over the years, a number of them require you to use weights of the ingredients, not standard spoon or cup measurements (which is probably why I haven’t tried those recipes yet!).

I have a really good pasta sauce recipe that requires 1 pound of fresh tomatoes, so this will be the first recipe I try using the MIRA kitchen scale.

I really like the fact that the weight is super easy to read with big bold LCD numbers and an awesome light up feature.  A big plus was that the scale came complete with 3 AAA batteries!  How many products have you bought or been given that do not have batteries and thus they sit for months until you remember to buy them?

This scale lets you measure in grams, pounds, ounces and milliliters (for weighing liquid), the most popular weight standards in the kitchen.  I used the scale to weigh some crackers for a 1 ounce serving size and found I got about 6 more crackers per ounce than the serving size on the box, so I got a little more of a snack than I thought I could have!  The unit is really stylish and modern looking and would look great in most kitchens.
After doing some price research on Amazon, I found that this scale is pretty much in the mid range ($27.99), maybe a few dollars more than others, but it also includes a nice large stainless steel bowl that the other scales did not.  This product also comes with a great 2 year limited warranty with product replacement or a full refund of the product price.
