Yale Real Living Key Free Touchscreen Deadbolt

Keyless entry might seem like just a modern way to open your home’s door, but its value to your family extends far beyond that. Simply put, Yale Real Living locks give you peace of mind.  And peace of mine is exactly what I need.

Disclosure:  I received a free sample product in exchange for my honest opinion.  Any opinion expressed in this article is based on my own experience with the product and is not influenced by compensation.
When used as part of a home control system like AT&T Digital Life or one of many others, Yale Real Living locks give you a level of security and control that’s just not possible with conventional locks.  Have a toddler running around at home like me? Feel secure knowing that the deadbolts automatically lock so she can’t leave the house.   Should someone unlock a door, you’ll get a text message letting you know. Have a teenager with a curfew?  The system’s audit trail allows you to see if he comes home late.  Kids arrive home from school while you’re at work?  You can automatically receive a text message when they unlock the door so you know they’re home.

The Yale Real Living Key Free Touchscreen Deadbolt is the sleekest selection in the bunch. By eliminating the cylinder, the lock is safer and you don’t have to worry about misplaced keys getting into the wrong hands.
The Yale Real Living Key Free Touchscreen Deadbolt has made my life so much easier.  With my traditional deadbolt, I was constantly dealing with the problem of my husband and daughter waiting in the car with the keys while I had to run into the house because I forgot something.  I would have to pull the keys out of the car to be able to unlock the front door.  Very inconvenient.  While this may not sound like a big deal, until you have a keyless entry system you will not understand how inconvenient a traditional deadbolt truly is.

I’m still trying to figure out if I love the automatic lock feature.  I often open the door to run outside for a package (leaving the door open) and 30 seconds later the door locks.  Sometime I forget that it has locked and try to close the door with the deadbolt sticking out.  I’ve gone back and forth with turning the automatic lock on and off and I think I like it better off.  At least for now.
The installation process was super easy according to my husband.  He followed the easy instructions that came with the deadbolt and was able to tackle the task in about ten minutes.  We chose the polished brass color to go with our existing hardware on our door and I’m very happy with how it looks.
To give you a better idea of just how easy it is to use the Yale Real Living Key Free Touchscreen Deadbolt, here is a little video.  The video shows how to automatically lock the door.  To open the door, simply enter your code and press star and it unlocks.  I edited out the code and the opening process for security reasons.

  1. I like this because I usually have a baby in my arms and fumbling around for a key can be a pain. This would be great and solve the problem of dropping the keys or almost dropping the baby.

  2. my husband has been talking about one of these FOR SO LONG! and now that we have a baby, id love to not have to dig in the diaper bag to find the keys!

  3. i think it is Great!
I would like this because i would rather have my kids remember a number rather then loose a key!

  4. I have a really hard time remembering to get my keys out of the house before I lock the door behind me so this would be a life saver at times when I'm running late to my nursing classes.
