The bedroom is one of the most important rooms in your entire house. I mean, you spend a lot of time in there! If your bedroom is dull and lifeless, it’s safe to say that the romantic side of your relationship will be, too! You need a way to spruce up that space to make it stand out. So, we’re going to present you with fourteen design ideas to help you get the most out of it.
Obviously, you can’t solve all your relationship worries by simply changing the layout of your bedroom! However, if your marriage is on the rocks, you can make a real impression by making an effort like this. You’ve got to be willing to put the romance back into your relationship if you want to get the most out of it, so let’s get started!
Bedding
It all starts with your choice of bedding! The thing is; it’s amazing what you can do with a few pillows and a change of covers. By adding color to your bed, you’ll be making it more inviting. You also want to overload it with pillows to give it an extra comfy look. By all means, add a few stuffed toys on there if you want to! You’re aiming for inviting, warm colors that will make you never want to get out of the bed! You don’t have to spend a lot to transform your bedding as long as you’re creative.

De-Clutter
Nothing can feel romantic if clutter is getting in the way. It’s that simple! Your bedroom shouldn’t be a place where clutter reigns supreme. If this is the case, get it out right away! Make a day of cleaning out your bedroom and ditching the stuff you don’t need anymore. Either move it to another location or fund your bedroom design by selling it. From this point forward, find another location to store what might be considered as ‘clutter.’
Paint The Walls
If you walk into your bedroom, and it doesn’t instantly feel comforting, something needs to be done. One of the ways to transform your bedroom into a romantic location is to paint the walls. The choice of color is very important, so make sure you’re both in agreement before you get started. Ideally, you’re looking for warm and inviting colors that soothe. There’s no single solution that you need to abide by here; pick whatever you think is best. Also, put some sheets and coverings down while you do it, or you might just ruin the flooring in the process!
Incense
What good is a comforting bedroom if the whole place smells of sewage (or cat litter in my case)? The way a room smells is very important to take into account when designing a romantic bedroom. There are loads of easy ways you can counteract any issues, though. The first is to add natural elements like plants and flowers into the room. My favorite option, though, is to fill the room with incense or even a candle/scented wax melts. There are lots of different types of incense sticks you can get that will cover the room with a unique aura.
Take Away The TV
I don’t care how much you like it! It’s time to ditch the TV. As great as it can be to have a television in the room, we come to rely on it too much. There’s no time to be romantic because we’re so glued to the screen on a nightly basis. If you really are serious about making your bedroom more romantic, you need to get rid of it right away. The same goes for other entertainment devices like tablets and phones. They’ll take over your relationship if you’re not careful, making it feel stale and boring.

Lighting
The way in which you light your bedroom is a massive contributing factor in making it feel romantic. There are lots of options here. Firstly, ditch the big light on the ceiling in favor of smaller lamp-sized installations. Then, add a dimmer switch so you can control the level of light as you see fit. However, an even better idea is to place candles all around the room. You can buy all this sort of stuff from websites like www.plumgoose.com/arteriors/, giving you plenty of choices.
Install A Sound System
I know I said that you wanted to ditch the TV and other entertainment devices earlier, but music can be very important. The key to using music correctly in a romantic space is to provide excellent sound. If it’s too tinny or too bassy, it’s just going to grate on both of your ears. You need something that brings out that sound in a calm and soothing way. Install a 5.1 surround system from somewhere like www.orbaudio.com in your bedroom. Barry White will have never sounded as good.
Soft Flooring
There’s no point taking the time to spruce up your bedroom without concentrating on the flooring. The only thing you really need to focus on here is cleanliness and softness. You want to create a romantic feel by adding as much fluffiness as you can! A bedroom is a place where many people walk around barefoot, and it isn’t going to be romantic if they’re in pain while they do it! Rip out the flooring you’ve got now, or simply add soft carpeting on top of a wooden floor. That’s all you need to do!
What great ideas! Our bedroom is definitely pretty boring. That's the room no one really sees, so we didn't spend very much time decorating it. We really should!
These are all some great tips! I really need to de clutter mine a little.
Like most people, our bedroom is not decorated or inviting. I'd most love to be able to paint the walls, and our window treatments could use improvement! Soft attractive lamps on the bedside tables are my favorite light.
