5 Things to Do With Holiday Cards After the Holidays Have Ended

Year after year we spend a hefty amount of money to create and send out holiday cards to our loved ones.  I absolutely love receiving photo cards from our family and friends, but feel so much guilt when it comes time to dispose of them after the New Year has begun.

This year, I have partnered with Basic Invite to create our family Christmas cards.  I carefully select my Christmas card designer each year based on a few things: overall feel of their products/website, past customer reviews, and quality of their cards.  I chose to work with Basic Invite this year because of their unique card designs, beautiful website design, product pricing, card quality and because they are a smaller business.

If you visit www.basicinvite.com one of the first things you’ll notice is how bright and cheerful their site is.  I don’t know about you, but I’m drawn to websites with crisp, clean designs.  Basic Invite’s site is so simple to navigate, too.

What sets Basic Invite apart from their competition is:

~ their willingness to price match;
~ the instant preview technology that allows you to not only see what your customized cards are going to look like, but also allows you to make changes until it’s to your liking;
~ they include peel and stick envelopes with most orders;
~ they allow you to truly customize their products with colors, wording, images and more.

This year I’ve decided to go with a few different designs for my Christmas cards.  Basic Invite has so many that I fell in love with and I figured, “why not go with a bunch of designs?”  My absolute favorite design is this navy blue, foil-pressed designs.  You can see that the gold foil print is lifted for added elegance.

Things to Do With Holiday Cards After the Holidays

Wondering what to do with the holiday cards your friends and family send you after the holidays are long gone?  My absolute favorite thing to do is turn them into Christmas ornaments.  I prefer to do circular ornaments, but you can do squares, stars or any other shape.  You simple choose the portion of the card that you love, trace the shape onto the card, cut it out and use a single hole punch at the top!  You can also add some cute snowflake stickers like I did.

You can also turn your old holiday cards into gift tags, a flip book, recipe cards or add them to a scrapbook.
