Beach Cocktails: A Beautiful Cocktail Book Made for Summer Entertaining

Some books are meant to be tucked away on a bookshelf, while others are pretty enough to become part of your home decor. Beach Cocktails: Pours, Drinks, Sips, and Bites is definitely the second kind.
Edited by Allyson Reedy with photography by Lauren McDuffie, this book immediately caught my attention because of how beautiful it is. The bright, vacation-inspired cover looks right at home displayed on my kitchen shelves, especially during the summer months. It adds a fun pop of color and gives the space that relaxed, coastal feeling I always love.
Of course, Beach Cocktails is more than just a pretty book. It is also one I can actually reach for when we are entertaining, spending the afternoon by the pool, or simply want to make an ordinary summer evening feel a little more like vacation.

A Cocktail Book Made for Pool Days
We have had plenty of pool days this summer, and thankfully, we still have quite a few more ahead of us. While the kids swim and everyone settles in for the afternoon, it is fun to mix up something that feels a little more special than the usual drink from the refrigerator.
That is where this book comes in handy.
Beach Cocktails includes 75 recipes featuring classic tiki drinks, frozen cocktails, tropical mocktails, and snacks to serve alongside them. There are familiar favorites like mai tais, margaritas, rum punch, and painkillers, along with recipes contributed by well-known bars and resorts, including Death & Co and the Four Seasons.
Even if you are not lounging at a tropical resort, you can still pour one of these drinks, step outside, and bring a little vacation energy to your own backyard.
More Than Just Cocktail Recipes
One of the things I appreciate about this book is that it does not assume everyone already knows how to create bar-quality cocktails at home.
Along with the recipes, it includes helpful information about cocktail-making techniques, equipment, and tropical ingredients. There are also instructions for making infused rums and simple syrups, which can make a homemade drink feel much more elevated without requiring a professional bar setup.
The bonus chapter of snacks and small bites is also helpful when you are entertaining. Instead of trying to decide what to serve with a tropical cocktail, you can find ideas that fit the same relaxed, beachy theme.
There are mocktail recipes, too, making it easier to offer something fun and festive to guests who do not drink alcohol.
An Easy Source of Summer Entertaining Inspiration
I love entertaining, but I do not always want it to feel overly planned or formal. Some of our favorite summer days are the casual ones when people are swimming, music is playing, and everyone helps themselves to snacks and drinks.
A book like this makes it easy to add one thoughtful detail to the day. Choose a cocktail or mocktail recipe, pick up a few garnishes, and set everything out near the pool. Even something as simple as crushed ice, fresh citrus, or a sprig of mint can make a drink feel much more special.
You could also use the book to create a small poolside cocktail menu, let guests choose a recipe to make together, or plan an entire tropical-themed evening at home.
A Beautiful Gift for Cocktail Lovers
Because Beach Cocktails is so visually appealing, it would also make a great gift. It is perfect for someone who enjoys entertaining, experimenting with cocktails, decorating with beautiful cookbooks, or dreaming about their next beach vacation.
Pair it with a set of cocktail glasses, a bottle of rum, or a few tropical syrups for an easy hostess, housewarming, or birthday gift.

A Little Vacation Inspiration for the Kitchen
Beach Cocktails: Pours, Drinks, Sips, and Bites combines two things I love: beautiful home decor and practical entertaining inspiration.
It looks great displayed on my kitchen shelves, but it is not a book that has to sit there untouched. With 75 recipes to explore, it gives us plenty of inspiration for pool days, summer gatherings, and those evenings when a vacation-inspired cocktail sounds especially good.
Summer may eventually wind down, but I have a feeling this book will continue earning its spot in my kitchen all year long. After all, you do not need an actual beach vacation to enjoy a little vacation in a glass.
